The Ticket:
The gift voucher or flight ticket is non-refundable (even in case of multiple postponements of the flight) but can be transferred to another person. Please inform us of the name of the new beneficiary. The voucher is valid for two years from the date of issue. You have the option to choose the date of your flight within this period based on your and our availability.

Flight Conditions:
Since the flight is entirely subject to weather conditions, we do not guarantee any specific route or itinerary. The average duration of a flight is one hour. The pilot reserves the right to modify the duration, departure location, meeting time, and all aspects related to the flight. Flights are conducted under VFR (Visual Flight Rules, as defined by regulations). Ballons Château-d'Oex/SkyEvent SA is approved by the Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) for public passenger transport under authorization number: CH.BOP.8018.

Boarding and Reservation:
No one is allowed to board one of our hot air balloons without a valid flight ticket (the corresponding invoice must be paid in advance by the passenger or a third party). As a passenger air transport company, Ballons Château-d'Oex/SkyEvent SA is subject to the conditions stipulated in the Warsaw Convention. The pilots of Ballons Château-d'Oex/SkyEvent SA are the sole masters on board and, as such, have authority over all persons on board. They have the right to refuse boarding or to disembark any person among the passengers or any part of the cargo that may pose a danger to the safety, health, or good order of the aircraft. To take their flight, passengers holding a ticket must book their place aboard a balloon with Ballons Château-d'Oex/SkyEvent SA. To reserve a place, they must call or write an email to Ballons Château-d'Oex/SkyEvent SA. In case of cancellation, it is the passenger's responsibility to book another date.

Reservation Cancellation:
A reservation can be canceled by notifying Ballons Château-d'Oex/SkyEvent SA at least seventy-two (72) hours, three (3) days, before the scheduled flight date. No cancellation can be made by the passenger after this deadline. If a cancellation is made after this deadline, the ticket will be considered used. If the passenger does not show up on the day of the flight, the ticket will be considered void. It is important to understand that if the above-mentioned cancellation deadlines are not respected, the ticket will be lost and no refund will be issued.

Flight Cancellation:
The hot air balloon flight is entirely dependent on weather conditions. Only our pilot is authorized to make the decision to take off. Ballons Château-d'Oex/SkyEvent SA reserves the right to cancel a flight due to poor weather conditions at any time up until take-off, for insufficient safety reasons, or if there are not enough passengers present. In all cases, Ballons Château-d'Oex/SkyEvent SA will not be liable for any costs incurred by clients in case of cancellation.

How to Know if Your Flight is Confirmed?
We will call you the day before the flight to confirm or cancel it based on the weather forecast. The exact meeting place and time will be specified at that time.

If you have not been contacted to confirm the flight, it is your responsibility to contact us. For late afternoon or evening flights, the passenger must call us at +41 (0)79 124 47 44 between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM. For morning flights, the passenger must call Ballons Château-d'Oex/SkyEvent SA the day before their flight date, between 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM. If weather conditions are favorable, the meeting time and place will be confirmed. In case of bad weather, the flight will be rescheduled according to your availability.

How to Dress?
Sporty attire and seasonal clothing are recommended. We suggest wearing good, warm shoes and bringing a head covering.

Taxes and Insurance:
Each passenger must sign a flight ticket issued by Ballons Château-d'Oex/SkyEvent SA. The ticket serves as the boarding pass for passengers. Civil liability and passenger insurance are included in the ticket price. VAT is also included in the ticket price. Ballons Château-d'Oex/SkyEvent SA reserves the right to cancel a flight at any time due to poor weather conditions, insufficient safety, lack of flight bookings, or for any other reason. This cancellation can occur at any time before take-off, and in such cases, Ballons Château-d'Oex/SkyEvent SA will not be held responsible for any costs incurred by the client (travel, accommodation, meals, etc.). However, tickets will remain valid during their validity period.

Subcontracting:
Under certain conditions and in specific cases, our flights may be carried out by one or more subcontractors accredited by Ballons Château-d'Oex/SkyEvent SA.

Limitation of Liability:
The ticket holder acknowledges having taken all necessary steps to be informed of the risks associated with a hot air balloon flight. The passenger deems these risks reasonable and acceptable given their physical condition and health status. The ticket holder assumes full responsibility for the risks and dangers associated with a hot air balloon flight. Note: The baskets are not equipped with seats. A pre-flight briefing will be conducted for passengers before take-off, covering safety measures to be followed throughout the flight. Each passenger must read and sign their flight ticket to confirm compliance with safety instructions at all times.

Children must be at least 1.20 meters tall (approximately 8 years old, to be able to look over the basket) to take part in the flight. It is your responsibility to inform us of the child’s exact age. We regret that we cannot accommodate pregnant women or anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The ticket holder authorizes Ballons Château-d'Oex/SkyEvent SA to use images of the flight they participated in, in the form of photos or video recordings. The transport provided under this ticket is subject to Swiss aviation regulations. Ballons Château-d'Oex/SkyEvent SA holds a commercial flight authorization issued by the Federal Office of Civil Aviation.

Disputes:
Any dispute, complaint, non-payment, or difficulty of any kind related to our services will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the canton of Vaud, except in cases subject to public order jurisdiction rules. The legal venue is Vevey.
